As devastating bushfires impact communities across the Otway region of Victoria, including the Colac Otway Shire and surrounding areas, Convoy of Hope Australia teams are responding with practical help for families and first responders facing loss, displacement, and uncertainty.

To support people who have lost their homes or have been evacuated, Convoy of Hope Australia has partnered with Airbnb’s emergency accommodation network. Through this initiative, evacuees can access short-term housing across the region at no cost, giving families a safe and stable place to rest, recover, and plan next steps during this challenging time.

As bushfires continue to impact Victoria, Convoy of Hope teams are now on the ground providing essential relief: including food, water, hygiene items, and cleaning supplies  to families and first responders facing dangerous conditions.

To help meet the urgent need for safe accommodation, Convoy of Hope Australia is partnering with Airbnb.org, which connects people affected by disasters with available homes. This support gives displaced Australians a place to rest, regroup, and begin planning their next steps. Convoy teams are coordinating with local agencies and Airbnb.org partners to help evacuees secure free nights in homes near schools, workplaces, and community networks.

Together, Convoy of Hope and Airbnb.org are standing with Victoria’s families, providing practical help, safe shelter, and hope as communities begin the long road to recovery.

Convoy of Hope Australia is responding to the devastating bushfires burning across Victoria, Australia, where extreme heat, dry conditions, and strong winds have fueled fast-moving fires that have destroyed homes and forced thousands of people to evacuate.

Communities across regional Victoria have been blanketed in smoke as residents fled with little warning, some sheltering in evacuation centers while others wait anxiously for news of loved ones and the fate of their homes. Emergency crews have worked around the clock, battling flames that have cut off roads, damaged infrastructure, and left entire towns without power or access to essential services.

In the midst of this crisis, Convoy of Hope is mobilising to meet urgent needs. Food, hygiene kits, generators and other essential supplies are being deployed to support displaced families and first responders on the front lines. As the fires continue to burn, many families are facing uncertainty about when, or if, they will be able to return home.

Convoy of Hope remains committed to standing with the people of Victoria, bringing practical help and hope as communities begin the long journey toward recovery after the flames subside.
