Convoy of Hope Australia Responds to Flooding in New South Wales

July 17, 2025 | 1:16 p.m.
In the wake of recent severe flooding across New South Wales, Convoy of Hope Australia has mobilised quickly to bring relief and hope to affected communities.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the strength of our local partnerships, we’ve been able to:
-
Serve over 8,000 meals to individuals and families impacted by the floods
-
Reach more than 200 families with direct relief
-
Partner with 19 local organisations to distribute more than 1,100 tents, sleeping bags & air mattresses
These tents are now in the hands of people who have lost everything, providing emergency shelter, safety, and the first step toward recovery.
The effort wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible collaboration from local partners. From early-morning pickups to late-afternoon deliveries, each tent represents a moment of compassion shared across the state.

As devastating floods continue to impact New South Wales’ Mid North Coast and Hunter regions, Convoy of Hope Australia is mobilising to provide emergency relief to affected communities.
A Crisis Unfolding
In what has been described as a one-in-500-year flood event, torrential rains have inundated towns across the Mid North Coast, including Taree, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour. The Manning River in Taree has surpassed its 1929 record levels, leading to widespread evacuations and isolating entire communities.
Over 50,000 residents have been advised to prepare for evacuation or face potential isolation, with more than 9,500 homes at risk. Emergency services have conducted over 500 rescues, including dramatic airlifts of stranded individuals and families.
Tragically, two lives have been lost, and authorities hold grave concerns for others still missing.
Convoy of Hope’s Response
In the face of this disaster, Convoy of Hope Australia is actively working with local partners to provide emergency accommodation to those displaced by the floods. Our teams are coordinating with local authorities and community organisations to identify the most urgent needs to deliver aid efficiently.
